Sorry for being Late !
Apologies to Everyone for the delay in updating the website and for our Rodeo Dinner being a little later in the year. We are a month later than last year which has just been unavoidable. This year we are trying a new buckle supplier from the States in the hope that we can receive better quality buckles for the same price for our end of season champions. Because of the time difference, delays in communication, finding out about customs duty fees etc, this has been a very long, slow and sometimes painful process everything should be all sorted now.
Once again, apologies to everyone, hopefully next year if buckles are of the standard we’re looking for then this process will be a little easier and a lot faster which will speed the process up and put our Rodeo dinner date a little earlier again. Thanks for your understanding. Regards Tracey.

Running our Dinner & AGM on the Same Day
The decision to hold our AGM on the same day as our Dinner was for a number of reasons, but certainly not to try and persuade anyone into attending either.
We would certainly like you all to attend both as support is always needed in all areas of Rodeo, but please feel free to only attend the meeting or the dinner if this is what you choose.

Island Rodeo Circuit – Footy Tips
For those of you who don’t know, the Island Rodeo Circuit this year organized a social Footy Tipping for the Winter months. The catch was that the entire 22 rounds had to be tipped for the season prior to round one. There's 44 people currently participating and it's been a whole heap of fun. Currently leading the tips is Jackson King from Tina & Mark Ellis and
At the end of the season, we will be hosting a major Footy Day Party for all participants with complimentary food & drinks plus our major prize winner. This will be open for people who didn't participate in the tipping at a fee which is yet to be decided.
Stay tuned for additional information.

ANIMAL WELFARE HANDLING COURSE
A course is available for any interested person on Animal Handling Skills at Rodeos. The IRC and Department of Primary Industries would encourage as many people as possible to complete this course, in particular Rodeo Competitors, Committee Members & Yardmen. One course has already been completed in the South of the State and the next is scheduled within the next month or so on the NW Coast. Each course is limited to 10 people, but if there is enough interest, we will arrange additional courses in different locations. The course is ran and funded through Skills Tasmania and a $50 course fee is applicable for all attendees. The course consists of 2/3 days - day 1 is underpinning knowledge for OH&S and Animal Welfare, day 2 is First Aid. If a participant already has a current First Aid certificate, then they don't have to sit that day but will get recognition for that certificate. The 3rd day is the observation/prac assessment at a practice day/jackpot day/etc.
If you are at all interested in participating in this course could you please get in contact with Tracey on 0400 917 417 or tlking@aapt.net.au ASAP. As soon as we have numbers confirmed we can confirm the dates. Thanks everyone
NEW ANIMAL WELFARE REQUIREMENT
The Department of Primary Industries have advised the Island Rodeo Circuit that under their new Animal Welfare Act, a report is required to be sent to DPIW within 21 days of a Rodeo outlining any animal injuries. As this report is already supplied to the APRA, we are currently working on introducing a system for which the APRA will report to DPIW on our behalf. This report is solely the responsibility of the Rodeo Judges. It will be extremely important for all Rodeo committees to get the required information to the APRA as soon as they possibly can to ensure the IRC meets the requirements set under this new law.
As a Reminder to All Rodeo Committees, please do not forget that it is now Law that a veterinarian be in attendance at all Rodeo events within
